A whopping 116 attendees made time to pop along to one of the two SEND Information at Birkenhead Town Hall. SENCOs from a range of Wirral settings from Nurseries up to Colleges came to listen, learn and share their experience. Practitioners from the Local Authority, Health, WIRED, School Governance and local charities networked with school SENCOs at what proved to be a fantastic two information sharing events. At the Exchanges held in the spring term, the SENCOs highlighted the areas of SEND they would like to hear more about. This time, speakers from Occupational Therapy, the Local Offer, St Andrew’s Primary school, Gilbrook Outreach service, The Inventors UK and Safe Families for Children presented.
As promised, here are the slides:
In addition we had a presentation from Safe Families for Children based in Bromborough. Their presentation was too large to place on the website so for an overview of the wonderful ways they can help Wirral families take a look at https://www.safefamiliesforchildren.com/regions/mersey/
We were also treated to a practical activity led by the Inventors UK. The Inventors have recently started to work with some Wirral schools who are looking for an after school club with a difference. A club that promotes resilience, greater self confidence, a can do mentality and peer support.
