Today we have been notified of an Ofsted inspection of Wirral provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The inspection will take place over 5 days and run from Monday 27 September to Friday 1 October.
As part of this, the inspection will include a survey of Wirral parents and carers of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The survey will be open from 12 noon on Monday 20 September 2021 (today) until 11:59pm on Tuesday 28 September 2021.
We’d like as many Wirral parents and carers as possible to have the opportunity to have their say so please help us share this information with friends, family, neighbours, anyone really, who would like to take part and share their experiences with the inspectors. It is recommended that, before completing the survey, parents and carers watch the short video (2 minutes 40 seconds long) at the start of the survey which gives information about the inspection and what inspectors will focus on. The words spoken in the You tube clip also appear on the screen. If you have more than one child with SEND, please complete a separate survey for each child.
Wirral’s Parent Carer Forum PCPW have kindly offered support to anyone requiring assistance completing the survey. Any parent/carer who would like support to access or fill in the survey, PCPW would be willing to offer their support. During this inspection there will be no opportunity for an open meeting for parents and carers to attend as may have happened prior to COVID. The main conduit for parent carer voice will be through the survey with selected groups being invited to a closed meeting on Tuesday 28th September.
