Speech and Language Therapy Service (Wirral Community NHS Trust)
The Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service assesses and treats people of all ages who have speech, language and communication difficulties and have difficulties feeding, chewing or swallowing.
Difficulties can be lifelong or as the result of an illness or injury. We will work with you to help you better understand your problems and use specialist knowledge and training to:
- Prevent problems arising
- Help you to communicate to the best of your ability
- Help patients with illnesses strive to maintain communication skills
- Help you overcome feeding, chewing or swallowing difficulties.
We also provide training for health and social care professionals to help them identify people who will benefit from therapy and to help to maximise communication between clients and carers.
