Hayfield School

Hayfield is a local authority, primary special school for pupils aged four to eleven. We strive to bring the highest quality of teaching and learning to pupils with social communication needs/autism, (including some with mainstream ability), or to pupils with moderate learning difficulties, (often with additional needs). But most importantly, we ensure that every child is respected and treated as an individual. We try our very best to see the world as the child sees it, and work from their starting point.
We have had National Autistic Society Accreditation for over ten years. We use a variety of approaches to ensure the children learn to the best of their ability, within a caring and close knit community. We provide structure, and routine, and an eclectic mix of specialist approaches, including looking at children’s sensory and emotional needs. We provide an interesting and exciting curriculum, that we hope enables children to grow up with skills for life, as part of a local, national, and global community.

Unicef Children’s Rights 23: A child with a disability has the right to live a full and decent life in conditions that promote dignity, independence and an active role in the community.
