This week is Learning Disability Week and the theme for 2022 is Living Life with a Learning Disability
Our friends at Mencap have this to say “This year, we want to show how people with a learning disability are reconnecting with friends and their communities. We also want to talk about the issues many people still face after the end of COVID restrictions, like still having to isolate or dealing with poor mental health and anxiety. Having a learning disability means that people find it harder to learn certain life skills. The problems experienced vary from person to person, but may include learning new things, communication, managing money, reading, writing, or personal care.
A learning disability is different for everyone. Lots of people who have a learning disability can work, have relationships, live alone and get qualifications.
Other people might need more support throughout their life.”
