Free Workshops for parents and carers of people with a learning disability
We are delighted to say that we are hosting two Information & Advice Workshops for parents and carers in May – see below and attached flyer for details!
We are running these workshops online via Zoom.
The workshops will be informal with lots of opportunity to talk and interact – a format you will be familiar with from my previous in person and Zoom workshops as we have found that this is what people like best!
If you want to book get in touch asap as there are only 12 places available on each workshop. You can attend just one or both if you wish.
Workshop 1: Planning for the Future will cover the important basics to consider when making wills and trusts to protect our loved ones.
This is very much an introduction to what is a daunting subject for us all. By the end of the session you should have a clear idea of the steps you need to take to set up a will that covers the specific needs of a family that includes a person with a learning disability.
When: 11th May 2021
What time: 12.30 to 3pm
Workshop 2: Planning for Independent Living will look at how to get the ball rolling on independent living for our family member with a learning disability. By the end of this introductory session you should know how to secure the appropriate level of care and support to ensure a successful transition to living independently for your loved one.
When: 18th May 2021
What time: 12.30 to 3pm (at the latest)
And finally…..
Don’t be put off by Zoom – I had NO idea how to use it before this pandemic and am now much better! Get in touch with me if you want a lesson in getting Zoom up and running, and using it, whether that is on your phone, tablet or computer. Honestly, it is easy once someone has shown you how!!
