Children with Additional Needs or SEND – Funding
Children with Additional Needs or SEND aged 0-4 could be eligible for funding support payable to the setting that they attend.
Inclusive Practice Fund (IPF)
Early Years Providers can apply for additional funding to support the inclusion of children with additional needs in early education and childcare. This fund is intended to support children in receipt of 2, 3 or 4-year-old funding to access their free entitlement. The Inclusive Practice Fund can be used to enhance staffing or allow staff to access Continued Professional Development (CPD) opportunities. For more information and details, click here
Disability Access Fund (DAF)
If there is a child accessing a setting that is in receipt of 3 or 4-year-old funding and receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the setting can claim a one-off yearly payment (DAF) to support them in the setting each year. Please note, children attending a Foundation 2 class will not be eligible. For more information, please click here
Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP)
EHC Plans are for children and young people between the ages of 0-25. EHC Plans are designed to give families more control over how they are supported and can include a personal budget. Having an EHC Plan means the different agencies that provide education, health and social care support will work together to help children and young people achieve their goals. Before children and young people get an EHC Plan they must have an EHC Needs Assessment. For more information click here.
